You don’t have to adopt an entire trail to help the park!  If you have a day to give to the trail or you’re willing to be on a list of people who can occasionally help, please email mountspokanetrails@gmail.com.  Here are some upcoming projects that may interest you as well:

• Join a Washington Trails Association trailwork party!  The WTA will be hosting several work parties during the summer of 2017!  Online signup is required; please follow this link to join in!  Note that trailwork won’t begin on Mount Spokane until after the snow has melted.
  • If you have any questions, please contact hweiler(at)wta.org
  • Online sign-up required!  It lets the crew leader plan the correct number of tools for the work party, plus the very important snacks, drinks, and cookies!  All tools are provided; just bring yourself, dressed appropriately for trail work, and some comfortable work gloves.  If you’re not sure, read the FAQs about trailwork here.

• Once summer arrives, help  ensure the Nordic trails are ready for next season! Watch the Spokane Nordic website for updates regarding work days.
• Help work on a restoration project at the CCC cabin.  More information to be added soon.
• Help work on a restoration project at the Cook’s cabin woodshed.  More information to be added soon.

The following is a list of projects Mount Spokane would like to see adopted; please check back often to see if there are any additions to our wish-list!  Adopt-a-Project is perfect for a group that would like to dedicate a day or two to the park without the year-long commitment of the Adopt-a-Trail program.

• Build a natural bench for quiet contemplation: the far north end (dead-end) of trail 103.
• Build a natural bench for quiet contemplation: trail 121 above the tributary of Deadman Creek.
• Build a  natural featured horse watering trough along trail 130 between Bald Knob Campground and the CCC cabin.
• Help with re-vegetation and erosion control on closed/rerouted trails.
  • Rerouted sections of trail 140
  • Illegal trail eradication and re-vegetation (as need arises)
